Baju Olimpik Malaysia

That can be concluded about the dress of the Malaysian contingent at the opening ceremony at the Olympic Stadium, which attracted global attention tonight.

The clothing worn by the national contingent was inspired by Hang Tuah's clothing in terms of styling and the injection of fresh elements from the geometric pattern and the color of the Jalur Gemilang as the basic color.

Procedure for the application is the complete sloping manner, dress and attitude as well shirted Malay symbolizing love for the accuracy of Malaysia and the national shirt.

The women's clothing, which is complete with a figure and a shawl, refracts Malaysia's rich identity with its own culture.

Based on a triangular or chevron-based geometric pattern, it gives a clear directional stimulus effect to achieve the best medal goal for the country.

The design of the dress is from the Faculty of Art and Design UiTM Shah Alam.

For the record, a total of 13 athletes and officials led by the Secretary-General of the Olympic Council of Malaysia (MOC), Datuk Mohd Nazifuddin Najib, along with badminton champions Lee Zii Jia and Goh Liu Ying as the bearers of the Jalur Gemilang, are members of the national contingent.

Also, marching was the diving queen, Pandelela Rinong, Nur Dhabitah Sabri, Ng Yan Yee, Phee Jing En, Welson Sim, and gymnastics queen, Farah Ann Abdul Hadi.

Also present were the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kamarul Hashimy Hussien, the national contingent secretariat, Norhashimi Hussain, Mohd Fawwaz Jamal, and Azrul Hisyam Abdul Jalil.

The contingent entry ceremony started with Greece while Malaysia became the 177th country with the host, Japan being the 206th contingent and the stadium's last.
